STEM RESOURCES
We have 11 years experience of working together with partners to create STEM, science and D & T resources that engage pupils in global issues such as sustainability, climate change and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Our STEM challenges, written for Practical Action have been used by hundreds of schools around the world and are accredited for the CREST award scheme. Global Project ideas were written in collaboration with Hull University and other partners in Europe as part of the EU project ‘ Girls into Global STEM’.

TEACHER TRAINING
As experienced trainers, we are able to deliver bespoke packages of training for both CPD and ITT, from 1-hour sessions to a whole day. Our sessions are very much hands-on, encouraging teachers to trial activities they will be asking their students to do! They also provide an opportunity for teachers to share good practice and develop a ‘next steps’ plan as well as find out about new resources, and learn new approaches and skills.
We have delivered training for organisations including Practical Action, Scotdec and the Design and Technology Association, both directly and through a train the trainer model.

Registering with the scheme is free and there are resources on the website crestawards.org If you are a school in our area interested in introducing CREST awards in your primary or secondary school we can help you. We can also attend Teachmeets and conferences to help spread the word amongst teachers in your area.

“I would genuinely struggle to name a team who are so highly regarded both by teachers and the STEM sector. Their resources are always first rate and their training and direct delivery is wonderful.”

Testimonials
“The educational resources you created for PA Schools really did change the way I teach, enthused hundreds of pupils in STEAM and raised awareness of some serious environmental issues and the Sustainable Development Goals.”
“I have worked with the Education unit at Practical Action almost all the years I have been involved with STEM.. The resources that the team produce are always brilliant and really useful and practical for teachers to use. I constantly promote them to the schools that I work with.”
“You are one of the few organisations I’m in awe of in terms of how good you are.”
“Your work as the Development Education Unit (at Practical Action) has had a significant impact on both the national and international education practices of thousands of teachers. The long term impact of this on the next generation of decision makers cannot be underestimated.”
“Thank you all for the amazing passion that has pervaded your work so beautifully in the materials you have developed and in your sharing with the ASE and others.”
“We are in the middle of our STEM week and I just wanted to let you know how much the children have all enjoyed completing the challenges! We are hoping to run this every year – each year group had a different challenge so will stick with that next year… the idea being that they will all get to experience each challenge travelling up the school.”
“Your educational work has been some of the most highly regarded and well used resources by our members and others. We have always been very happy to support and will continue to fly the flag.”
“You are both incredibly inspirational ladies…Your resources have seated learning in real life contexts, I don’t know anyone who does that as well as you both. This is so important for giving children a real understanding of the world they live in, challenging preconceptions they hold about the world and opening their eyes. In fact all of our eyes. I have learnt so much from you both.”
